Welcome to Hotel Strandporten!

Discover Hotel Strandporten, a hotel with beautiful surroundings in the middle of the World Heritage Town Visby on the island of Gotland. The view over the park area Almedalen is wonderful and you can also see the sea from some of the rooms. In Visby you find many entertainments, restaurants and culture at a walking distance.

We hope that you will enjoy the warmth and the cosiness and make you feel at home while staying here – even though you are far away from your home. We believe that our guests choose to stay here because the hotel is small with a personal touch. After noon tea is served every day 2-5 pm. We offer coffee, tea and some sweets in the main building. Free of charge of course.

All of our 20 individually designed rooms have bathrooms with tiles on the walls and Gotlandic marble on the floor.

Every room has an individual design. Read the following presentations and find your favorite room. 16/17, 12/14, 23/24, 26/27 can be booked with own hallway, perfect if you´re travelling together with kids. Please request this on your reservation.

No. 10, Double room Superior.

The interior colors are dark red and gold. Black headboard from South Africa (Kamelo). Small balcony facing the sea, two chairs. Bathroom with a sea view. Unfortunately there’s no space for a desk in this small, but charming room. The room is situated at the left when you exit the elevator.

No. 11, Double room.

Light and lovely with two big windows and a view over Packhusplan. The interior colors are black and gold. The magnificent headboard is from South Africa (Kamelo).

No. 12, Double room.

One of our biggest rooms, on the corner, with big windows and a view over Packhusplan and Strandgatan. Light and beautiful. The interior colors are beige and green. Black headboard from South Africa (Kamelo).

This room’s interior is in shades of beige and white. A view over Strandgatan. White headboard from South Africa. Queen size bed (160 cm).

No. 15, Double room.

Our Angels and Birds Room with a very special contrast wallpaper where angels and birds fly above your head. A view over Strandgatan.

Sleep in a canopy iron bed. Velvet wall-coverings. A view over Strandgatan.

Light room with big windows. Queen size bed (140 cm) A view over Strandgatan.

The room has a beige and sea blue contrast seagrass wallpaper. The old building logs are visible, white plaster walls. Second floor. A small balcony facing the sea, with two chairs so that you can enjoy the sunset.

Light and lovely room at the second floor. The old building logs are visible, white plaster walls. A French balcony. A view over the sea and Packhusplan.

No. 23, Double room.

Enjoy a high and gorgeous canopy bed, big enough to almost fill the whole room! The old building logs are visible, white plaster walls. Two big windows.

No. 28, Double room superior.

The old building logs are visible, white plaster walls. A French balcony with a view over Almedalen.

No. 31, Mini Suite.

Our most beautiful room on the top floor. A big magnificent balcony with sun chairs. You get a wonderful view over the sea and Almedalen. Nice spa bath tub, big enough for two.

No. 32, Double room Superior.

One of our favorites. A mansard roof window with a view over both the sky and the sea. The old chimney stack gives a special character to the room.

No. 33, Double room Superior.

Nature and shell theme. You sleep in beds with beige leather headboards. The room has one big window with a view over Packhusplan and the sea. You can also see the sea from the bathroom.

No. 34, Double room Superior.

The Jewelry room with a big window and a view over Strandgatan. A special door to the bathroom which has an alcove and a view over the sea.

No. 35, Double room Small.

The Red room with a mansard roof window with a view over both the sky and the sea. Sleep in a Queen size bed (140 cm width).
